Watching the Olympics and knitting. What a great combination and getting a lot done on my daughter-in-law's linen scarf. JRob
This is the best pattern ever for me and I am willing to make it in as many colors as I can get, lol. Hope to have this done by tomorrow. I have made this pattern so many times it has become like second nature. The heel has been turned and the gusset has been picked. Now comes the easy part.
I swear I'm not the world's slowest knitter, but I have neglected this project for a bit. It is finally done though, and keeping me warm amid all these winter storms! Next project is going to be a red cabled ipad case for my AIDS Walk etsy page. Be sure to check out my previous post regarding submitting any knitwear donations :)
All my best,
I am afraid I have a new addiction! My sock drawer is now filled with socks. I have no regret either. And I am still knitting some from old stashes. Right now it is -9 with wind chill of -20. I have been wearing a pair of chunky socks I made from old stash they are great! I wear them when working out in the snow shoveling etc. Sometimes for a couple of hours.
The scarf is coming along nicely. Using a size US6 needle. I really like the way the color combinations of the color ways I've selected are coming together. I think my daughter-in-law is really going to like it. JRob
So this is quite a screwup - I'd started a pair of socks for my friend Shakir way before going to the US, and got waylaid. I finally finished them up and took a picture of him wearing them but accidentally had the movie camera function on.
The hat and socks are dried and blocked. I'm okay with how they both turned out. The only thing I would do differently with the hat is, I would take the ribbing down to 1.5 inches instead of the 2.5 inches that it is. Since I will only be wearing the hat when I'm out exercising (walking), I'm not really that concerned about it.
Here's the hat I finished tonight. Just washed it and now it's blocking. Since I don't have a dummy head to block it on, I thought that the balloon would do the trick.
The socks, of course, are blocking on sock blockers. These will also be for my friend, Mark. They were finished a couple of nights ago, but have been waiting to finish the hat before I washed and blocked both projects.
I am making the Flax sweater in men's large.
