Site Maintenance

As promised, although delayed, MWK will be offline this Saturday while I perform some upgrades. If no one is online Friday evening, I may begin then to minimize downtime during the more active periods of the day.

Thanks in advance for your patience and Happy 10 Year Anniversary!

Running Knitter

He came. He ran. He knitted.

David Babcock not only completed his scarf while running the TCS New York City Marathon; he beat his personal record by almost a minute.

Midwest Fall Men's Retreat review

I am just winding down from the retreat this past weekend. It normally takes a few days to come back to "earth" so to say.
The Midwest Fall Men's Retreat is not one of your glorified ones of workshops etc. Its very relaxed. Primary interest is a great group of men who share their love for the craft.

Conductive Yarn

My son showed me a pair of gloves he got today and conductive yarn was used in the fingers so the wearer can use a cell phone without taking off the gloves. I am going to do some research on this and write an article about it. I was wondering if any of you guys have ever used conductive yarns? If so, what did you make?
Thanks.

"Fair Isle Peacock Hat" - Tanis Gray

Morning All, Well after completing 3 projects last week and raking leaves all afternoon, I decided to put a new project on the needles using yarn from my stash last evening. I chose Tanis Gray's "Fair Isle Peacock Hat" which is really a two stranded work using sock yarn. The pattern comes from Carol Sulcoski's book "Sock Yarn Studio".

A Shawl, a Blanket, and some questions :)

I had put the prayer shawl aside to do a rush job on a baby blanket for some friends I will see the week before Thanksgiving. I decided on a whim to knit them something and then worked my tail off for fear that it would not be finished in time. Instead I made it with time to spare....and watched a lot of Star Trek in the process.
