Earlier Peter Mark asked if anyone had the pattern for the Warm Thoughts Throw he wanted to finish. I emailed the good folks at Patons, now Yarnspirations.com and inquired about it. It's an old pattern book from 1997, which is now out of print. They no longer carry it, but they were lovely and sent me the entire book of patterns.
My niece has asked me to do her a sweater, and I have tons of Bolivian alpaca in my stash. The yarn was supposed to be for a different project, but my friend in La Paz got the wrong weight. Now I am left with 900g of 2-3 fingering/sport weight yarn. Pattern calls for a US 8 needle and a gauge of 17 sts & 22 rows = 4" x 4". My gauge swatch worked up to 3" x 3" with 2 yarns stranded.

Last Friday I was snowed in, so I went "stash diving" and found this Knit
Picks "Wool of the Andes" and started a top down raglan. The colors are
"grizzly heather" and "opal heather"....warm and cool...earth and sky.
Four days in was frigid cold outside and inside a warm sweater grew!
I was off for four days starting last Friday and ended up having much of this time to myself. The weather was quite frigid, snowy and windy, so I decided to take this time to tackle a pair of mittens. I had
