"Hollywood" Knits Update

Well, after several delays -- and some plain old laziness -- I finally finished the Cary Grant pattern. Other than his cleft chin (Groucho had his mustache, glasses, and cigar; Bette Davis had her "eyes"), he doesn't have any physical characteristics that stand out. So I'm not sure how good a likeness this is.

The Knitting Man(ual)

I have this book and love it. As I become more skilled, I will make more things. The slippers I use as a profile picture are from the book, and the afghan I made as well. I found it on sale at Amazon for about $15 and it's worth every cent of that. NOW, you can get it for under $5 on Ebay an they say it's free shipping. Check it out if you are interested, but beware that it is eBay.

For Dr. Who Fans

Now that the new Dr. Who has been announced...Peter Capaldi...I wanted to share another cute little Dr. Who Moment. In one of the episodes in the 6th season, I noticed that in a bar setting, he was reading a knitting magazine. Of course, it would by my first instinct to put a knitting magazine in a bar...not!

Grouchy Geisha

At the Men's Rocky Mountain Knitting Retreat, we stopped in at the Loopy Ewe and I managed to pick up a gig teaching a couple of classes. One of them will be beginning lace. Although I'll be covering lace knitting in general and theoretical terms, it was suggested that I teach toward a pattern as well. I decided on the Grouchy Geisha from ravelry.

Cambria Washington quilt and cable blanket

This is turning out to be a fun project...smooth sailing through the 2X2 rib and cables only every 16 rows. I am taking the opportunity during the Florida summer evenings to prepare for the cool winter nights to come. I'm using Cascade Eco+ bulky...forgot the name of the color but it's green to me:)
Happy knitting guys
