Well today I finished color affection. Here are a couple of pictures before washing and blocking but you'll get the idea of the finished item. My next project is going to be Stephen West's Chadwick. Hope you're all having a great weekend. It is a glorious fall day in St. Louis. Happy Knitting, JRob
I am knitting in the round a mohawk beanie for my friend, who's going
through chemo, with her favorite football team's logo (GBPackers) on both
I am fairly good at intarsia on a flat (back and forth) piece. But as this is a beanie for her soon to be bald head, I must put it together in the round.
Is anyone going to be at Rhinebeck this year? And if so, are there any impromptu men's knit nights planned for the weekend?
Just finished a prayer shawl using the Dragon Scale pattern, which was a new stitch for me. Not sure which side is the "right side" as they both look interesting and give the fabric a nice texture.
Does anybody have experience knitting for felt? I want to make about 180x60cm of felt. Any experience with shrinkage and what stitches felt up best? Is a pattern recognizable after felting? Should it be knit tight or loose?
I'm sitting here joining panels on my Hollywood knit project. As usual, Turner Classic Movies is on TV, and this morning is "Mr. Lucky" starring Cary Grant and Laraine Day (1943). Cary has joined a women's auxiliary that raises funds for the war effort, mostly to get closer to Laraine.
This is the latest iteration of a sock I've been fooling around with for the past few years and more intensively in the past six months. I would like to make about 10 pairs of socks for myself that I can put through the wash with everything else, like I do with store-bought socks. I have used Ann Norling's Adult Basic Sock pattern which Bill very kindly walked me through a few years back.
I am looking for suggestions or a pattern to knit myself a sweater. As the subject suggests, the sweater needs to be sized 4XLT. I have searched Ravelry and other sites but I come up with nada. I am not skilled enough to take a pattern and rewrite it to adjust for size. I'd love a hoodie. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't be the first to have this problem, can I?
It has been almost a year since I last posted anything and 3.5 years since I posted my blog about the wedding veil I made for my daughter. I finally have an "in action" photo. She was married on 08/10/13. Mmario was the designer for the shawl, Vera Wang was the designer for the dress, and I have no idea who designed the cowboy boots she wore.
