I took jpauls advice and ordered an inox circular needle 24" 10.5. that is the size i am currently using on the poncho. Ill give it a try and give my critic of it.
Once I;m done with my current scarf i'd like something more complicated, first off learning how to purl probably. But then, something easy but more interesting would be fun, any suggestions? also, sorry for seemingly capitalizing the beginners forum lately. oops, guess i should advance in skill eventually.
I have some money to spend on needles, but obviously not on addi turbos, What's the best idea? isit cheapest to buy a set of needles such as the needlemaster from knitpicks which would give me just about any size id want including circs. or should i get needles as i need them, no pun intended. what would be the most budget-friendly in the end? Im not sure how much if any discount is given in sets of needles. what do you guys think?
I just bought a circular needle to test knit with. It is from Clover Takumi bamboo premium. Its not the addi turbo i wanted but it was only $7.00. vt_shua is right, just buy the Addi turbos in the sizes I use the most. Ill take that advice. I do have one big Question" How in the world do you get the cable to relax, Its all coiled up. I did try running it under hot water and it relaxed a little bit but not much. Any way this has been an up and down day. my artisan arrived, my friend wants me to knit a poncho for her, thats why i bought the circ needle. I was going to start the poncho tonight but it might take abit to relax the needle.
My artisan 70d just come in this morning. great. just finished assembley. read instruction book.OMG its going to take awhile to learn to use it. so my bond will have to stay till i learn the artisan. How many use machine along with hand and what machine?
My scarf i;m making now. First ever please keep that in mind. Has one problem that occurs now and then, it gets skinnier and wider, I know this is due to varying tension. But I don't know how to keep my tension constant, since I don't feel I;m really changing it much at all that I can notice. any tips? also, id love a simple pattern for a hat or gloves. I;m finding a plain nothing but knit scarf quite boring after a while although i don't notice as much when i sit and kit for a long period of time.
What is your preference. When i first started, I bought all aluminum needles from 1 to 10. It is what walmart carried. I hear that the bamboo is the prefered needle of choice. What is better about the bamboo over the aluminum?
I finished a pair of felted mittens last week and gave them away to a friend on her birthday. The pattern is in the latest Knit It! magazine - though I used Lamb's Pride instead of Lion Wool (perhaps I just identify with lambs more than lions?) They were very simple to make and even fit man-sized hands!

What are these patterns and where can i link too it. I tried a google searcha and it only refered to this site.
I went to a local yarn and knitting supply shop and found this book. It is called Socks soar on two circular needles.. by Cat Bordi'
I bought the book, the needles are a problem. they were sold out of the size 1 , 2, 3 24" Addi turbo needles i was wanting. Can order them on internet, so not that big a deal. I bought some sock yarn. cant wait to do my first pair of socks....I allso believe in the sharing of information. Any of you that knit socks would be interested in the book. I could scan and make a file to send to you, or copy on copy machine and mail it to you. I feel we need to help eachother grow in this fasinating hobby.
