Fair Isle Knitting

Hello gents!

I don't know the ID of the gentleman who does the wonderful fair isle knitting on here but maybe someone could bring this link to his attention.

Found a wonderful vintage fair isle pattern online. Not sure if it'll be his cup of tea or not, but here's the link anyway.

Latest socks.

This pair of tube socks has been in the works for quite some time but were finished this morning. A little bit of ripping back when I first started them [too tight] and at the very end [reshaping the toe decreasing for a more pleasing look] but, otherwise, a pretty fast and satisfying project when I could just work on them.

April Socks - updated

These are the latest socks. They took exactly 4 weeks to knit; the second in only 10 days. I would've been faster if I'd not been reading so much. LOL
The yarn is from Mary Maxim and was a gift. These socks will be given to a friend who admires the colors. Not that I'm too butch to wear them myself.

Knitted Mystery Has Been Solved!

It is a silly pink elephant balloon animal, here it is all twisted together. Since I had no grey yarn in my stash, I decided to make it pink. If you are old enough you will know all about pink elephants.

Knitted Mystery

Hope all is well with everyone. This is a photo of something I knitted and is so strange, just wondering if any members here want to take a guess at what it may be.

I will post a picture of the object in a few days.

Has anyone tried this pattern?
Would like to try it, but only really a beginner lace knitter.
Also wondering if it is possible to knit this without using circular needles?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Help

I have some Madelinetosh and some Jamieson and Smith Shetland, both lace weight, that I want to use to make a shawl. The Madelinetosh is a reddish burgundy colour and when I used it before, the colour came out and ruined a bedspread when I blocked it. I certainly don't want it to run into the grey Shetland wool. Is there something I can do to set the colour before washing it?

Moving, questions, and yarn giveaway

Hi. It's been a while since I have posted anything. Knitting has not been my priority. I just finished my orthotic and prosthetic technician training at school (in Minnesota) and have a job lined up in Syracuse, New York. I was wondering if anyone on this site lives in Syracuse, New York? And if anyone has leads on places to live? I have begun to look for places to live on craigslist.
