The Stockings Were Hung by the Chimney with Care

Stan Stansbury's picture

So I promised my friend Tom I'd put up pictures of the Christmas stockings I've been working on. And here they are.
The ones hanging on the hearth are for holiday decor. The unfinished one is for my husband's nephew's son. This is a big deal because it's the first time in the the 13 years we've been together that my husband has suggested we give something I made to someone in his family.
These were done with the yarn around my neck, and I think the tension is more even than it would have been otherwise. They're also my first ever stranded projects, and all I can see is their imperfections.

Very nice, Stan. If they look this good as your first attempt at stranding, it boggles the mind what a little more practice will turn out. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Wow, they look great on the mantelpiece like that. I don’t think I ever saw a completed one at Monday Night Knit. They sure look great in your front room. I hope to get very comfortable using dpn’s over the coming year so when this season comes around again I can try something like that. They really are an inspiration, Stan. (As you've already found out from the hubster.) Well done!

They came out great!

They came out great! Psychologically, the only thing I knit are imperfections surrounded by a little fabric, so I know what you mean.
