River Run Pullover

Finally finished the River Run Pullover by Ron Schweitzer from the book Knitter's Stash. I started this last year, put it down for many months and have finished it just in time for a 33C day :) so I shall have to wait till next winter to have a chance to wear it. It is knitted in the 8 natural shades of J&S Shetland Supreme on a 3.5mm circular. I'm not entirely happy with it as there seems too much fabric in the front just below the shoulders.

Sorry about the crappy mobile phone photo, I've stuffed the program of my digital cam. I'll try to replace with a better photo.

You have done wonderful

You have done wonderful things with Ron's pattern...Ron is an amazing designer, but his work requires an amazing knitter like you to have it come out so beautifully.

Most Fair Isle designs don't allow for sloped shoulder shaping, so the one part you dislike is pretty common unless you've got Robocop shoulders to stuff into the sweater. I usually end up doing a bit of short-rows on Fair Isles, but it requires fudging the color patterning a bit.

Seeing such a beautifully done sweater never ceases to inspire me.

Kerry, that is beautiful work. I am just finishing up a fair isle in natural shades as well. I really like the borders. You must be very proud of yourself. Getting my head around the seasons in Northern and Southern Hemispheres is really hard for me. Great work.
