Thanks for the compliments

Thanks for the compliments guys.
zZigzZag - virtually all of my needles are el cheapo walmart Boyes - I think they are a metalicized plastic, I'm not sure. I have one pair of bamboo circs - and I detest them. They grab the yarn and don't let it go at all!!!!

I do have a few dpns in bamboo and they aren't quite as "grabby" - but they always feel as if they are shattered (they aren't - no cracks I can find) - so even though I use them to start circular projects I get off them asap.

Things do get easier with more stitches on the needles - up to a point. But a few rows hanging off the needles helps stablize things.

Mike - when you use lace-weight on size 8 needles - a change in gauge isn't very obvious!!!

Mario, what beautiful work.  You should be very proud.  Man, your gauge is so consistant and perfect.   Good for you.

Ok.  I give up.  Where is this picture of this beauteous creation?  I can't find it.

Would love to see it, being that it was rendered from a man with hair that I would personally love to spin up.  Ahem . . . . . but that's another issue.  Meanwhile, where is this picture?????

MMario - What kind of

MMario - What kind of needles do you use for a project like this.  I recently experimented with something similar on aluminum needles (the only ones I had in an appropriate size) and found it almost impossible to keep them from sliding out.  Does it become more manageable with a larger number of stitches (I was trying out just a single repeat), or would I be better off buying needles in some other material like bamboo?

looks it, doesn't it? Truth

looks it, doesn't it? Truth be told it was almost mindless knitting. VERY regular pattern, very symetrical (sp?), very easy to "read" as you went. I was able to knit it (after the first repeat) checking the instructions only every dozen rows or so...

BTW - I am *not* insane. And the rest of me agree. Ask any of us.
