Gosh! It has been a quite a while since I've posted here, beyond a few comments. So, I thought I'd best share a couple of recently completed projects.
The sweater is the Aran Raglan featured on the cover of a booklet from Patons titled "Men" (product #500840). Working on this project was a mixed bag of enjoyment and frustration, as well, it offered the opportunity to reacquaint myself with working with charts, and to improve my skills with knitting cables. I followed the pattern as written, but, extended the length of the collar by 1.5 inches. This provided extra height, and will delightfully cover the upper portion of the neck up to the lower jaw that is oft times left bare iether by the standard sized collar not being long enough, and with scarves having a tendency to shift during Winter activities. The yarn used was Patons Classic Wool in the colour Woodrose Heather.
The scarf is a basic 2X2 rib knitted on 2.75mm (US 2) needles (with a 1X1 rib over the first 4 and last 4 stitches along both sides). I used Mountain Color's line of Bearfoot yarn in the colourway of Moose Creek. The knitted dimensions of the scarf measure at 6.5 inches in width by 69 inches in length, and with the addition of fringe the completed length is 84 inches.
Initially I'd knitted both items to be coordinates with other garments, but, the colours of each compliment the other rather nicely that I'd decided to pair the two. I'm quite pleased with the final results of each piece, and am now quite patiently awaiting the arrival of (please don't yell at me for this four letter word) snow.

Beautiful work and excellent
Beautiful work and excellent color choices. Was this knit in the round or flat?

Thank you.
The majority of the sweater (sleeves and body) were knit flat, and the collar was knit in the round. I tried using a circular, but, after a few rounds of battling with everything tangling, I gave up and returned to the trusty DPNs.
Very nice pairing. Mountain
Very nice pairing. Mountain Colors does some great dyework. I love knitting with their yarns, based on the socks I made. Our 4 letter stint is mild - so far - and I hope it stays that way. Lots more in the mountains, where it does the most good. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Thank you.
I was introduced to Mountains Colors by the owner of an LYS I visit often. I'm so glad that she added the yarn to my ever increasing addiction. It's been thoroughly enjoyable knitting with it.

What a beautiful sweater and the scarf really does go with it. I was in Timmins Ontario last week and there was plenty of that four letter word there, but it is Canada so I guess I am to expect more of it. Again lovely job, well done.

I think we have about the same notion here in Minnesota, the snow is bound to arrive sooner or late, along with indulging in activities to have fun with it too.

Beautiful!! You could've worn it here in Denver last week - lots of the four letter word here. But now it's warm(ish) again. The pieces are really great - congrats!!

Thank you.
I'd heard you had a storm there shortly after I'd passed through on my return trip home. In a way I'm glad I missed it, and also disappointed I couldn't be there long enough to enjoy some skiing.
