Thanks to QueerJoe for his help in testing and structuring the pattern for this hat which is Tapestry Crochet . It is for sale on Ravelry and on my site. I consider myself an Artisan and this is one of my expressions of the art I call Tapestry Crochet. It is my hope that Tapestry Crochet will Bring a different side of Crochet to the Craft. This is definitely not your Granny Square technique lol! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Andy...I mentioned in my blog how challenging and interesting your pattern was...it is DEFINITELY not your standard crochet pattern...and the hat comes out quite beautifully.

Thanks Joe...I went through

Thanks Joe...I went through the the drawer of leftover DK weight yarn in my stash drawers, and picked out an old ball of Rowan DK in a dark pine color and a ball of orange Royal Tweed by Lana Grossa. Since I realized I wouldn't have quite enough of the green, I supplemented it with a bit of purple handspun I had just gotten from Dan (BrewerGnome).

It all mixed together very well (which I blame on Andy's design...not my sense of color).

...our Monday Night Knitting group is fortunate to watch Andy working on his various hats... and he wears them all the time...
I'm always amazed at the variety of stitches, colours and designs he comes up with...I hope he does do a book on Tapestry Crochet and hats!

I don't believe there is a book per se, I will eventually write a book myself. There are some books about Tapestry Crochet, but they only deal with the color part of the Tapestry Crpchet and not the Texturing that I do. So in short I Incorporate the Tapestry Crochet Technique with the Texturing of the Craft, thus creating my hats. Thank You!

Hey Andy - that's really beautiful. So I assume it is crochet correct? And not knitting? I don't know a thing about crochet. I love hats and feel like one cannot have too many. It's obvious you also love them and you're a great crafter of them!! Great work!

Nice hat Andy. I like the shape and pattern, and the colors you chose. It would be fun to try to knit it starting with alternate ribbing and the fair isle for the top. Thanks for sharing it with us. John
