Hello! It's been a while since I've posted anything, and I have an enormous amount to write about! But first things first! Many of you will remember the Summer From Hell when both our dogs died a few summers back. Last week we finally replace the Tibetan Mastiff with nine week old Jampa (Tibetan for loving kindness). She is such a joy - a bundle of energy for 30 minutes, terrorizing everything from the cat to my spinning wheel, then sleeping hard for an hour or so before she's back at it. Lest you wonder if this is fiber related, TM's have a very soft long undercoat in the winter that gets blown off the first warm days of spring and it makes a very soft warm yarn. I am in the process of knitting up a vest for my partner out of out of yarn spun from Kodiak's hair (she died at age three from a genetic disorder). I can tell you it's a lot easier to work on with the young one running around!
More soon,
Jonathan in DC
