So I got this free subscription somehow and the issue I just got (September 2009) includes a Fall Guide to Style. Of the "5 trends to fall for this season", two of them are things we would see here at MWK!!
Good thing I'm helping my friend design something for her husband that will be in fashion, a nice thick sweater with shawl collar.. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
I am just happy to see that retailers like Abercrombie, Rhuel, Energie, Diesel and G-Star are making these sweaters now. They help validate that you can be masculine and wear a nice cardigan sweater, v-neck, full button (suprised to see so many) and some pretty amazing heavy knit cardigans. It is interesting how Ralph Lauren has been making these for over 20 years and they are now being accepted as mainstream.
I am a big fan of the heavy knit cardigans and have always like the shwal collar cardigans. Must be that Rockford Files or Starsky and Hutch thing from the 70's (Whoops dated myself).
I have some pictures up on my blog of what's coming and seasons past. Great resource if you want to get some idea's. www.sweaterfetish.com
Energie has a beautiful new cardigan for this Fall that I can't wait to get my hands on.
So I say good for us! It's great to see such a great selection out there and guys not being afraid to wear them. Finally menswear has become very fashion forward!
