Modifications: I added extra repeats to make the stole longer.
Notes: "Eärë" is Quenya for "The Open Sea"...closest I could think of coming to "Seascape".

If you actually look at the project information, you'd see that this particular project has been finished a long time ago. However, ever since I started knitting Eärë, I have always known that I wanted to make a proper photo shoot for this particular project and so I waited until the I got the chance to go to Starnberger See on a sunny day.

I was lucky that my friend was with me and she was happy to stand in as a model. I forgot to calculate in the windiness at the lake and I would certainly have had problems doing the photo shoot without someone helping me. I couldn't have dreamt of better results with C. holding the stole and modeling it in the blowing wind. Thank you so much!

The location was perfect, not to mention the flawless weather and the gorgeous day we had. I couldn't have wished for a more perfect photo shoot! And if I may say so: I'm very proud of myself for having knitted the project and done the photo shoot!

The particular reason why I really wanted to do the photo shoot at Lake Starnberg was the fact that the colour in the stole reminds me exactly of the colour of the water in the lake and the clear blue sky reflecting off each other.

The theme of water and open sea was apparent with the name of the pattern being "Seascape". Unfortunately, there was no way I could just go to a real open sea to do a photo shoot...but Lake Starnberg did the job. ;-)

Knitting Eärë was quite a challenge. There was a period of time that the pattern really got so boring for me that I had put it aside for months on end. However, I have to say that the pattern isn't that hard. The only issue was the fact that there isn't any short pattern repeats that could easily be memorised (at least for me) and so I needed to constantly have the pattern there while knitting on the project, which sometimes is not as convenient.

I'm quite torn about the yarn. Whilst Kid Melange is a great cheaper alternative to the available Super-Kid Mohair out there, in comparing it to, say, Rowan's Kid-Silk Haze, GGH's Kid Melange can be quite scratchy due to the fact that Kid Melange contains virgin wool and polyamide instead of silk like in Kid-Silk Haze.

Knitting with Super-Kid Mohair also poses the problem of the fuzz getting simply everywhere. But I don't think you can escape that easily....so it's something you will just have to live with knitting with this kind of fibre.

Still, I reckon that for the quality and the price, GGH Kid Melange is unbeatable for me. (Not that I could ever knit something with Super-Kid Mohair for myself.)

Bottom line is that I'm very happy with the result: The yarn, the end product and the photo shoot.

Now I only have to figure out what I should do with it, since obviously I cannot wear it. ;-)
