I think you're much better
I think you're much better than you think you are... the stitches are gorgeously even and the yellow is awesome! I think you're doing great as long as it's sort of fitting you - just double check the sizing to make sure it'll fit... other than that you're going to have no problems!

I think it looks great --
I think it looks great -- and the XL is probably the way to go. I'm under the impression it tends to run quite small.
Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Hello! I'm also knitting my
Hello! I'm also knitting my first jumper, I started about 6 monthes ago, it has been an epic journey. I've made mistakes and had to completely re-knit the front panel after knitting plaits patterned down instead of up (I thought I could ignore the error, alas, no) and I had to re-knit a sleeve (control freak issues), but I began blocking last night and it's all ready to stitch together (see picture). Jumpers rule. The sense of acheivement compares with turning the heel of your first sock. Go bravely onwards! Goodluck!
6 months??? I can't wait 6
6 months??? I can't wait 6 months.....It's now or never, I tend to get bored knitting one colour only so I need speed in knitting. Cool that you've made it to the end of your first jumper though! kudos!
Hey there Jonathon, No need
Hey there Jonathon,
No need to be so 'anti-climactic' about it at all...that is a WONDERFUL start on a sweater. Nothing wrong with the colour, either. Forge ahead, ready for success!

its patons 100% wool from the 'Fairytale colour for Me' line, it's actually wool from a childrens line, but I like wearing bright colours in winter just to liven everything up a little.
Wonderful knitting,
Wonderful knitting, Jonathan. That shade of yellow wouldn't look good on me but I can see you in it, looking very dashing. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

I love the Big Bird yellow
I love the Big Bird yellow Jonathan. But you are probably, officially, going to have to stop pretending that your knitting skills are seriously limited. The truth is out! :-) It looks beautiful, evenly knit and even huggable.
