Well I finally completed my frist grown up sweater. After too many scarfs and baby sweaters I took the plunge into an adult sweater. My mother saw the pattern and just had to have it. Now I'm ready to start working with the other yarns in my stash for all kinds of sweaters.

Well done. Nice one. I'm doing an aran at the moment. If you are looking for a pattern I can scan the instructions with a pic then email it to you.
It has a lovely cable on the sleeve from shoulder to cuff.
The sides are stocking stitch until a little cabel then ropey pattern then a diamond with moss stictch in between in the centre.
At the moment I'm not home I'm on holiday. If you still looking for a pattern in 2 weeks, I'll be home by then to scan and send... if you want.

Very nice, I am sure it will look great on your mom. I am curious, how did you do the band, is it knit separately and sewn on or did you pick up stitches along the bottom to get the horizontal cable (almost like an ICord)?
Sweaters with lots of cables are my favorite projects. They are as addicting to me as some people find socks!
