I’m using a larger size needle and wool (Cascade Ecological Wool) than the pattern and following the stitches for a smaller size.

I’m using my husband’s favorite fitting sweatshirt as a guide as well to get the right sleeve/body length.

Let’s see what happens.

I’m also changing the color every two repeats of the cable pattern:

Cuff and 1 repeat off-white 31 rows + cast on
Two repeats Grey 32 rows
Two repeats Tan 32 rows
The rest in brown

One must concentrate when working this, trying to keep the cable pattern during increase and decrease.

I’ve made at least three mistakes in the first sleeve, fudged a little on a spot of instructions I didn’t understand, and only frogged maybe four rows where the mistake was too big to go unnoticed.
