Hey guys. Here are the directions for increases from a pattern for my sister's sweater that I'm making (thanks TallGuy). I have always used EZ's method for increases with the loops that mirror each other. I'm assuming that this is the same but what is the advantage of this method? EZ's seems much easier and practically invisible.
paired m1 (make one) increases:
first increase of each pair: using the left needle, pick up horizontal strand between last
stitch and next stitch, from the front. Knit through the back loop.
second increase: using the left needle, pick up the strand from the back and knit.

They're both basically the same type of increase. There's really no reason to one over the other: it's a matter of preference. I've used both and prefer EZ's. I think it's easier to execute, and it seems to be more invisible than the other method.

I tried it, comes out the same for me. Some people just like to make things a bit more difficult I think.

When I do the latter instructions the increases are identical, at least by the time I have blocked them. So I have no idea why they would have you do it this way.
