So, walk me through this just once. To make the shape you did above, how many stitches do I cast-on, I can not find a Row 1. Is it seven? The three knits on each side and the one for the blue square, right? I get all the abbreviations except for s2kp, is that 'slip 2, one as if to knit, one as if to purl'?
Well I will keep this all in mind. This is my next project after I finish my socks. Yes I am still working on them, if you can call being too sick to knit working. At this rate It will be fall again before I finish my socks, so this will make a very nice Christmas/more like Easter gift for my mother. I haven't decided, but I am thinking of doing it in black.
Another gorgeous piece. The idea of stripes and lace is grand...I enjoy doing afghans like that but haven't thought about shawls. Thanks for the inspiration. Like the tees and lawn to block...if I did it all my friends would think I finally took up the game. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
First of all, can you write out that pattern for me. Second of all, is there any particular reason for the shape you blocked it to? Is that some secret that I need to be in on for triangle shawls?

yes, cast on seven and knit
yes, cast on seven and knit back.
Then the first row of the chart is the 3 border,, knit 1, 3 border. (knit 7 total) and the return row (4) is k3, p1, k3
s2kp is slip two together as if to knit, knit one, pass the slipped stitches over. (centered double decrease)
