Dave and I knitted today using the Vanna's Choice I finally found at the wholesale market. After giving up hope and leaving the last shop, just outside of their door I saw Vanna's face smiling at me from two large plastic bags full of dark blue yarn. Just one color and even though the label says it is Charcoal Gray, it is definately dark blue, the correct navy hopefully. I knitted up these today and Dave will give me his on Wednesday. If the yarn and color are correct, and they arrive, we'll be honored to have them included in the project.

Great looking squares, Rick.
Great looking squares, Rick. For both Dave and yourself. I didn't go with navy because it's harder to see while I'm working. No green because I'm not fond of green. No red because I'd just finished a project in red. So, that left the Honey brown. Luckily it worked just great with the patterns I chose. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Agree with you. Don't really enjoy working with dark colors either, but I was lucky to have found it. Sounds like we might be short on navy squares anyway, so a good thing that was the only color they had.

Realized this morning (when I couldn't sleep) that the reason you probably found it in Turkey was because the ballbands were mismarked. Rather than correct the problem, the mill probably just "remaindered" it to a local outlet. Either way, lucky find for you and Dave. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

My thought too... BTW, I paid 1 YTL for the ball or about $0.75.

Woe is me...my price wasn't quite that low. However, it still was fairly reasonable. Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

I like your squares. This is going to be such a fantastic blanket.
Glad to see more navy going together with what has been shown so far. I was a little hesitant to use the navy, as I some times have to knit in poor light at my knitting group. Cafes don't always have good lighting of an evening. I opted for mixing in the navy. Perhaps I should follow your example and make some more in navy.
I'm sure it will be the correct colour as you said. It most certainly does not look gray.

I made a navy square and the color on my monitor looks the same as yours.

I'm happy to see the blue-
I'm happy to see the blue- I think most of us went for the honey and brick. If I had anticipated this I would have opted for the navy and olive.
