Finally off the needles!!!!!
Here it is off the needles and being blocked. I could have blocked it large but have no surface large enough. Please excuss the pic titles I forgot to change them lol.

Yes it is Victorian Lace Today, the needles were 4mm, the yarn was a cone yarn, unspecified content. It cost me $2.45 lol

I guess it doesn't matter...the real question I have is how is the mesh that fills in the big spiral sections made (if it's easy to describe...if not, I'd be happy to look at the design if it's online to figure it out).

That swirly
That swirly star/flower/medallion is so great for a center. And it can be sized up or down easily, which makes it very convenient.

It's not one of my designs -
It's not one of my designs - but it uses the same motif I - errr "borrowed" from a public domian doily.
The mesh of the swirly star shape is just simple eyelets. It increases one eyelet every other pattern round. The "Edge" varies by one stitch
So you do k2, YO, k2
Then k2, YO, k3
then k2, k2tog, YO, k1, yo, k2
k2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k3
k2, (k2tog,yo) x2, k1, yo, k2
etc while you are increaing.
ONece you start the background the increases are in those sections and the yo's decrease every other pattern round
look for "swirl leaf doily" on the web.
