I've got a couple of larger projects on the needles right now, but I decided to take a break and use up some of the hand spun yarn I bought at Knitch in Atlanta.
I tried the peanut pillow pattern found here: http://www.polarknit.com/files/Peanut%20Pillow.pdf
I'm afraid it turned out a disappointment. The pattern was fine, but my choice of a dark yarn means the white of the stuffing shows through pretty bad. I've never tried using a kitcheners stitch to stitch things together, and I neglected to use a different yarn as my cast-on on one side. This was supposed to be a gift, but I think I'll mark it off as a failure instead.

you can buy black stuffing
you can buy black stuffing on line...or make a cloth interlining in an appropriate colour...
That's not a bad idea, but I
That's not a bad idea, but I didn't really do a good job on it as a whole. If I felt it, there will be no hope of salvaging it later. I'll have to think on that.
No hope of
No hope of salvaging???...those are what I call "dog toys" :)
It's hand spun, hand died
It's hand spun, hand died wool that would be a nice dog toy.
I'm sure the Dog would feel
I'm sure the Dog would feel worthy.
I was thinking the same
I was thinking the same thing as MMario...even a slight fulling of the yarn would fill in a lot of the spaces between stitches.
What kind of stuffing is it?
What kind of stuffing is it? And is the yarn feltable? Because if the filling is washable - you might want to send that sucker through a wash dry cycle and felt it down.
