Well, last session of classes was fun and I am super bummed and sad that they are over, but spring session should be out next week. I am teaching again and I am so excited. Learn to knit, WoolPets, and a super cute felted handbag with some needle felting. The shop sample of the felted handbag is so freakin cute.
I am excited to get back into the classroom. I love watching people learn to knit and get excited about it. I love to see them accomplish a project and watch their faces light up when they show it off. So much fun.
I just started a new project that is going to be quite a task from what I can tell. I am knitting the Big Snugs pattern by Pick Up Sticks. I am knitting the outside with a dark brown Cascade 220 and the inside with a brown and white baby alpaca. I can't wait to get my feet in those boots. I suspect that it will be hard to get me out of them. I am about 5 inches into the first boot and with this project I have learned to knit in the round on two circular needles and I have learned magic loop knitting. I really like the magic loop and that lead me to finally placing my order for the Knit Picks Options Interchangeable needles. I just keep hearing good things about them and so now that I won't be limited by the minimum 24" cable I am ready to explore. I even paid for rush shipping because I just can't wait.
Next I want to learn to knit two socks at a time on one need using magic loop. I think it would be great to knit a pair of socks and finish both at the same time.
I am also going to publish and try to sell my pattern for the Venetian Rainbow Scarf at The Naked Sheep Knit Shop. The class I taught was very helpful in working out all the flaws in the pattern. My students all did an amazing job and everyone's scarf came out great with the correct pattern but all different in color. One student is even on her second scarf now and she is making it her own with her yarn choice and color choice. I love it.
I think that is all for tonight. Remember, if you are in or near Portland, Oregon or find yourself visiting, come to The Naked Sheep Knit Shop on Thursday night's from 6-9 pm and hang out with us. We could use more men in the group and if you are shy or nervous about meeting new people, then this is the group that might be for you. We try to make everyone feel welcome.
