Need a sassy little hat pattern

scottly's picture

I have this freind who is a sassy little 25 year old and she has been going through a very hard time and she needs a magic hat. I asked her what her favorite color is and she said rainbow. So I picked Noro Silk Garden 284 for the yarn but I can't come up with a pattern that I think is right for her. She is half Mexican with beautiful dark silky hair but with a very creamy complexion. She's very cute - for a girl. She lives in the Houston area so the hat can't be too terribly warm to wear. If you know of anything sassy and hip I would love to hear about it.

My opinion is... I think the noro yarn will bring sassiness perfectly in combination with a simple and elegant hat. Perhaps just a basic hat pattern in st stitch?

You might also check out "knitscene" magazine, it's geared toward the young and hip crowd. Also, there are a couple of basic knitting books that are geared to the young adult crowd that may have some good ideas. Check with your local teen/young adult librarian and/or library reference staff; they should be able to help you out. Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

I'm not sure if it's "sassy"

I'm not sure if it's "sassy" enough, and won't necessarily work with the yarn you have, but I have had a great response to the YugiDean hats that I've made - so far all for women in their early 20s. You can search a pic on this site or on Ravelry. Your friend is fortunate to have someone who care as as much as you do. Carry on!
