Many years ago I knitted an afghan that was reversible. I have forgotten how I did it and lost the directions. Does anyone know where I can find a book or a pattern showing reversible knitting ?
I've never actually done double knitting but lots of frogging! Seriously, I once met a wonderful knitter who did double knit afghans exclusively. She just zipped right along. She said they don't take much more time than a regular afghan once you get used to the rhythm of just knitting along. It's another one of those things I keep saying I want to try. Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
Hi, I learned double knitting from Jane Neighbor's book, Reversible Two Color Knitting (ISBN: 978-0684176475). It's out of print, but I bet you could find it on line somewhere.
Hey - just noticed you're in Asheville! My sister and one of my dearest friends both live there. We used to live up in Charlottesville and would visit often. I love that area.
Hi Frank,
That's it. I remeber it was doubly thick but never knew it was called double knitting. Thanks so much. I have saved the web sites, for future reference when I get ready to start. Jack
