I am looking for names for a knitting drag queen for a performance piece that I am mulling around in my head. Suggestions, please!!!
Ok, this is AWFUL and I can't believe I'm actually...(ohgod)
The one and only:
(spelled as so and pronounced "el-leese")
Toss the nickles now...this tired old queen of a generation past is forever shamed!
These are terrific. Here are a few more...
I probably shouldn't send this one but who could resist: Muffy Swatch
Muffy Swatch = PERFECT!
This is probably lame, but how about Shear, and then you could sing "If I could purl back time."
Okay you fellows are way out of my league, I will stay quiet on this one lol. Lady Entralac gets my vote, so regal "Duchess of Yarn Over"
Having cocktail hour with you lot would definately be a plus rofl!!!!!!
Pearl (purl) Ballwinder
I'll try to think of some more. Having beverages, so shouldn't be that hard to get creative here soon!! :))
Although, I must say that Stuart's suggestion of Lady Entrelac is my fave so far!
Yowza! Am I ever out of practice on Drag Names. (Not that I was ever good at it, mind you.) I really like Knitasha Croch'e - how do you get those diacriticals in there? - but I think a lot of it has to do with whether you are in a group, or solo. Sounds like lots of fun, either way. -- D'oh - found the diacritical key on the upper keyboard. I'm much better with my knitting than I ever was with typing. Thank goodness! Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
Lady Entrelac the Duchess of Yarnover, and her entourage of Knits of the Round Cable.
I think I will have to save this one for the Renn faire!
or for the truly fabulous Diva that only requires one name for instant fame and recognition... STOCKINETTA!
Wow and I thought I was good at the drag queen name game. You guys are making me look like a rank amatur. My favorites so far are:
I do hope for this performance piece you are using "Pardon Me, I Didn't Knit That For You."
Oh, NO! Lest we forget...
Okay... thought of another one:
This is actually quite fun, isn't it !?
Not crotch, you troll!
Crow-shay! As in Sash-A!
Knitasha Croché! Get it right! I'm beautifully twisted and cabled, DAMMIT!
Oh my stars and garter stitch! IS THAT FABRIKA??? She looks mildewed!
Honey, take a note! You look home-made---not hand-made. Shop worn is so last year, Sweetie! And Pulleeze...shave off those pills!
you said: "Not crotch, you troll!
Crow-shay! As in Sash-A!"
Isn't that what makes it the most perfect choice, it has my vote.
I love it when butch brings it on!! Let it flow, brother!!!!
if you want to be FAAABULOUS....
check out these links...
(my daughter sent these to me...we're designing The Producers in Boston in April)
What about combine it to Knitty Fairisle. I like that one.
Classic & Classy... Anne Gora.
Debbie Pointa Needle
I am impressed with Knitty Carlisle...consider the following...
how about -
Knitty Carlisle or Minnie Purl ?
I think we're off to a good start here! Keep 'em comin', boys!!
