This is Trudy in her puppy cut. She's in AZ right now being shown. I miss her so much. My white girl, Toni, misses her too. They are best buds. Hopefully, she will finish soon and come back home.
I live 2 blocks from Madison Square Garden, where Westminster is finishing up either today or tomorrow and the dogs that have been on the street the past few days are amazing. Some of the owners remind me of the characters in Best in Show. Good luck with your dog in the show; she's beautiful!
Awww...I love dogs. Seen the movie Best In Show? It's hilarious. I'd so show my dog because he is the absolute cutest black lab/chihuahua mix there is, but I don't think they have a catagory for mutts do they?

He was a rescue dog, so his pedigree isn't totally known. We're sure there is black lab and chihuahua in him, but I'm guessing there are in-between breeds too, maybe. He's only 11 pounds. He can be seen on my Ravelry page modeling two projects.

I've always wanted a standard poodle - they are so cool. I hope Trudy shows well. Let us know how she does and if we should look for her at Westminster.
You have to have some serious coin to get a dog to Westminster. I'm thinking that my teacher salary is not going to cut it. Seriously, Westminster is a $50,000-$100,000 proposition.
"A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn." Blackadder
In order to have a winner at the big shows, you must campaign your dog. This means that you have her shown across the country. You want them to accumulate a lot of points and recognition. When you hear about the dogs being the number 1 or 2 dog in the country, this means that they have accumulated the most points. There are a lot of quality dogs similar to what you see at Westminster but most people lack the funds/time to get to that point. It's a lot of politics too.

Why so much - the entry fee is only 75.00? But I don't know what you have to do to qualify.
