Very nice :) I did some pottery in high school, but we wont' even talk about how long ago that was, I'm 29 I tell you, 29! *shakes her cane in the air and wanders back to her socks*
Beautiful work! I recently saw on the Seaport yarn website covered clay pots with a little opening on the edge of the cover- the purpose is to hold your yarn ball while you're knitting.
that's gorgeous... I had my first ceramics class last semester - I'm anxious for next semester's classes to start... I have a few ideas I want to try out there!! :)
you can see a few pieces I made on my website if you're interested...
A friend was getting into pottery and ceramics at one point; he made some great tiles and coasters by taking doilies his wife crocheted and using them to make impressions in the clay. He did a great bowl with the impression of the crochet in the bottom and then made the rim look corded.
i saw a similar thing where someone knitted sort of a jar cozy and then plastered the knitting and fired and glazed it. what came out was a "knitted" looking ceramic piece
