Okay, I'm obsessed again. I am totally fascinated with slip stitch patterns and how they move colours and create nifty effects. Total awesomeness! This means that I'll probably be up to my neck in new knitting books by week's end.

Has someone been reading the Winter issue of Interweave Knits?

The absolute best reference for any slip stitch patterns will probably always be the first and second volumes of "Treasury of Knitting Patterns" by Barbara G. Walker. She has four total, but, the first two volumes will have you up to your eyebrows in WIPs for the next decade!

They're published by Schoolhouse Press (which, as we know, was started by the great Elizabeth Zimmermann, herself, named after her beloved midwestern homestead.)

I haven't personally knit

I haven't personally knit any slip stitch patterns, but I've read about them a lot when I was first starting fair isle...seems interesting what type of crazy patterns you can do. I'll probably do a slip stitch pattern sometime soon, just to keep myself occupied.
