I just started working out
I just started working out again after gainning 70 lbs over the past 10 years. I think it is a great idea.
Registeration. Tim, I'm up
Registeration.
Tim, I'm up for this... I think registration is a great idea, creates a sense of commitment.
How do I send the $5 ? I know... a pretty basic question. I'm in Australia at the moment... well until New Years Day, then that evening I fly to Turkey. If I do a bank transfer from Turkey to Australia it costs me $25 at the Turkey end and $30 at the Australian end... so I before I even send $5, it will cost me $55 to be a part of this... would PayPal do the job or is that crazy thinking for $5 ?
Where do we post our pics?A great idea, so we can all see who is doing the challenge and if we put up pics regularly, everyone can see how we are all progressing :)

I'm just refreshing this
I'm just refreshing this post, because I think it's a great idea.
The new year is beginning very soon, so we should def plan what we're going to do this week sometime.
I like the idea of planning on working out 3 times a week, and then we should also have a daily exercise to do as we knit...do a row, do a set...etc.

I will confess - I keep
I will confess - I keep reading the title of this as "MOCK" fitness challenge. Now *that* I am up for.....
Kind of like mock cabling or
Kind of like mock cabling or something like that?

Exactly! I'm lazy, so I
Exactly! I'm lazy, so I want the appearance without the work.
Ok...so I'm starting doing
Ok...so I'm starting doing my own fitness work, with the motivation being MWK right now...but sometime before we start the official thing we def need to work out the specifics. I'm real excited about this!
Just had an idea...what if we tied the fitness into knitting somehow...like knit a row do a set type thing?

OMG, we sooooo have ESP or
OMG, we sooooo have ESP or something... I was thinking something like this...Knit a row, do a set...knit a row, do another set...knit a row...some jumping jacks...etc...THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!
If I did this I would not be
If I did this I would not be able to move after about 20 minutes. I am doing rather short rows at the moment, making a very ugly scarf that a friend wanted for Christmas. It is painful enough that he wanted a very bad acrylic, but K25, do 10 pushups might just kill me.
You could change it to knit
You could change it to knit 2 or 3 rows, do a set?
I was actually thinking we could, starting Jan 1, start a specific project that is our fitness challenge project... Then plan the challenge around that?

Hmmm, need to find a project
Hmmm, need to find a project that we all like. Something fitness related? I can't think of anything knitted that I would wear while working out. Maybe a nice set of socks or something.
I don't think the project
I don't think the project itself has to be fitness related...I definitely don't want to wear something I took the time to knit while I'm getting all sweaty.

Kind of like prayer

Interesting Concept, As I am close to reach 49, I find myself at my perfect weight which is the same weight I was at in 1980, actually I am 3 pounds lighter, but better muscle mass. lol! That means I can have some Fruit Ckae this weekend!
Yeah...I think guidelines
Yeah...I think guidelines are a very good idea for pics. We don't need to travel down that road. That is what private emails are for.
I'm in agreement to get
I'm in agreement to get something up and running... 'cuse the pun ... if we only get a few people out of the knitting chair/sofa and having a healthier lifestyle it will be worth it.

I could setup a quickie blog
I could setup a quickie blog in a subdomain.... As fun as I think this would be, I'm a little nervous about the before and after pictures based on what I got in my email for the calendar! I think it'd be more fun as a little microsite anyway. I'll work on that over the weekend!
Yea... I think it would be
Yea... I think it would be helpful to have strict guidelines for the pics... maybe an approval system... or a password protected subdomain... Still... IMHO a few precautions to prevent everything from descending into outright porn would be appreciated by - at least - me.
No offense intended toward those of you who actually do look impressive scantily clothed.
