OK, Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to comments. I have been in a mad rush to finish my last semester of school. Finals are a pain and I still have much work ahead of me.
Thanks for everyone’s kind words and welcoming statements. This is a really nice group, and I’m glad by happenstance I found MWK. I definitely will be posting my knitting, and questions about knitting. I’m sure I can learn a lot from all of you.
Red hair:
My hair color has many positive and also some negatives. Growing up a redhead as any redhead knows, we receive many snide comments concerning our hair. On the other hand all people endure name calling throughout their childhood/adolescence, right? Anyhow now that I’m older it is still something that I’m proud of and ashamed of at the same time. I wonder if there is something all guys are both proud of and ashamed of at the same time…?
To all of those in Ohio or the area around Ohio stay warm, and maybe we’ll cross paths at a yarn shop someday.
My Ravelry user name is Methinks if anyone wants to find me there. I’ll be updating my profile soon as well.
Good luck with all of your projects! My studying awaits me.
Even Anne Of Green Gables found unique-ness in her hair -- after she dyed it green! :)
I was never that ashamed of my hair, never coloured it ever...I got made fun of in school, but, I think that's just going to always be a life-long thing, redheads always have been made fun of and probably always will be...
Mine is strange, it likes to morph into a rust-red in the Summer and then back to an auburn in the Winter.
...but I love my red hair -- it's my mother's, y'know...she gave it to me.
We are so predictable, someone new and cute shows up and we throw ourselves at them. Not that I am in anyway above this myself...the party I was at last night was evidence of this. Three bands, lots to drink and well...the details are a little to revealing to share, but I made a ton of new friends. Also was able to facilitate several relationships starting (and one ending), including one with a new ginger friend of mine, and I think I may have found a ginger "friend" as well (she just broke up with her boyfriend though). Odd how life throws you these little coincidences. Well I look forward to seeing all your work, and I hope you stay inside out of the snow.
I moved to Portland from Louisville, KY about 7 years ago, and I'm here to testify... There are LOTS of women there who would sell their mothers to (naturally) have your hair colour. Wow, for pretty. My mom's a ginger: I got red tints on mouse brown brown, but I didn't get the gene.
Welcome to the fine site of the nicest guys on the planet.
you are probably heterozygous for the gene - in fact, if your mother is ginger, you would almost have to be (unless you are a mutant). But it's a recessive and needs to by homozygous to express.
Originally from Maine, I used to live in Ohio; moved there when I was a teenager -- lived in Waverly (graduated high school there) and lived in Cleveland for eight years after getting out of the military. Most of my family still remains in Chillicothe, while I came back home.
Here's hoping you'll like it here. Will we see you on the MWK board on Ravelry as well?
