Well, here it is. My Hemlock Ring Blanket.

I've been thinking about trying this for some time now and two weekends ago I decided to cast on for it. I used about four hanks of Bartlett's fisherman's wool in a natural/grey colorway on size 9 an 10 needles. I bought a ton of this stuff a couple of years ago from a local yarn store that had closed. I used up the smaller amounts of other colors that I bought along with it but let this color sit in my stash mostly unused until now. I still have five more unsused hanks (more than enough for another blanket!) The stuff feels rather coarse and smells heavily of lanolin. But once it's washed it softens a bit and feels quite nice.

This project was fun and relatively quick to knit and quite easy. Of course, the real bitch for me is when it comes time for blocking. I really hate that part! The finished blanket measures about 4 1/2 feet across.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I really don't have a place to put it in the house. With four dogs, I prefer inexpensive easily washable throws on my furniture. I really like it though and I'm hesitant to use it as a gift although I just might. I can always make another!
