So I am searching and searching and searching for the lyrics to a Christmas Carol I want to refresh my memory on, and nothing comes up, no matter what combination I try for the search. AFTER the first couple of searches I'm beginning to get pretty frustrated.
It probably would have helped if I was searching the lyrics site rather then MWK.

Is this what you were
Is this what you were looking for?
The moon shines bright and the stars give a light,
A little before it was day;
Our Lord, our God, he called on us,
And bid us awake and pray.
2. Awake, awake, good people all,
Awake and you shall hear
Our Lord, our God, died on the cross
For us whom he loved so dear.
3 O fair, O fair Jerusalem,
When shall I come to thee?
When shall my sorrows have an end,
Thy joy that I may see?
4. The fields were green as green could be,
When from his glorious seat
Our Lord, our God, he watered us
With his heavenly dew so sweet.
5 And for the saving of our souls
Christ died upon the cross.
We ne'er shall do for Jesus Christ
As he hath done for us.
6. The life of man is but a span,
And cut down in its flower::
We're here today, tomorrow are gone,
The creatures of an hour.
That's the more normal
That's the more normal version. I found the one I was looking for which is a Christmas version, though sharing some verses and the tune.

(Chipmunks:)
Christmas, Christmas time is near,
Time for toys and time for cheer.
We've been good, but we can't last,
Hurry Christmas, Hurry fast.
Want a plane that loops the loop,
(Alvin:) Me, I want a Hula-Hoop.
(Chipmunks:)
We can hardly stand the wait,
Please Christmas don't be late.
(Dave:) Ok Fellas, Get ready.
That was very good, Simon.
(Simon:)Naturally!
(Dave:)Very Good Theodore
(Theodore:) He He He He
(Dave:)Uh Alvin, You were a little flat
So, watch it, Alvin...Alvin?...ALVIN!!!
(Alvin:)OKAY!!
(Chimpunks:)
Want a plane that loops the loop,
(Alvin:)I still want a Hula-Hoop.
(Chimpunks:)
We can hardly stand the wait,
Please Christmas don't be late.

Please Christmas don't be late.
That is our "Forbidden"
That is our "Forbidden" song. We sing it in the green room prior to performances, and then IN PUBLIC (gasp!) after the last performance of the last day. Gotta remember - I'm singing in 1842

And then somewhere once ran across a third verse for "Rise up shepherd" - like to re-find that as well.
