This is my latest finished project. I made Elephant as a birthday present for my partner under a veil of great secrecy. It was a good exercise in learning to seam, and I'm very pleased by the outcome.
The pattern is from Toys to Knit by Tracy Chapman (a Brit, not the singer).
He knew that I was knitting something but not what (other than not-a-sweater). He did see a photo of some of the pieces on my blog because one of his friends squealed, but there was no way to really tell what they were supposed to turn into. I kept the project at work and only worked on it there unless he was out of town, so that he'd never get a chance to see me working on it.
It was worth every scream! I think that has to be one of the cutest knit stuffed animals I've ever seen. Are you going to share the pattern? As for knitting in secret, I don't have to worry about that since my partner is blissfully uninterested in what I'm knitting at the time unless I get his attention and show it to him. Maybe he's afraid it might be for him? Hmmm. Anyway, I love your elephant!
