The colorways selected were intended to mimic the muted colors of winter. In my head, this meant lots of whites, muted blues, greys, and maybe a little green. Noro taught me a big lesson as I went through this scarf–Winter has lots of color, and far more organic color than I was intent to let it.
Somehow, I think winter will actually be a little less dark and gray for me this year.
I love it when a scarf can change your life!

I've seen this scarf in many, many different colorways, but this one, by far, is the most exquisite of them all. Wow what an impressive scarf. And your stitches are impeccable too. Great, great job there, young man.

I just discovered there is a colorway in noro silk that is basically the bear flag colors.
I'm not much one for "bumper sticker" displays of pride, but I DO just like the colors, too...
It looks so soft and supple.
It looks so soft and supple. I want to touch it. Is that in stockinette? or...? k1p1 rib? It doesn't look like it's curling, so I'm guessing the rib?

One of those colors is 211....i used the same color in my original noro striped scarf but then frogged it cause the starkness of the white didn't go well with the saturated greens, blues, and dark charcoals and browns of the other colorway. did you use 3 colors or just 2?

I love winter's colors, you normally wouldn't think of green as one of them, until you look around and see the pine trees!

And you know, knitting this
And you know, knitting this scarf was a wintry experience. At first, I was excited by the snowy, until it started getting muddy and the skies got dark. Then there was a day when the sky was blue with a cloud here and there, but the nights always lasted longer. The winter continued on like this but by the end, I looked back and thought, what a beautiful experience. I wish it had lasted longer.
