Just back from the Virginia Wool Festival and Sheep Dog Trials. Man, I love those sheep dogs. We used to go every year, but it's been a few years and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. The dog trials happen all day long, so, we arrive, watch the sheep dogs, go shop for wool, then got back and watch some more.
It's held at Montpelier Station, literally across the street (ok, across a state highway) from James and Dolly Madison's mansion, a little less than a two hour drive from DC.
I bought no wool - but I did have the luxury of being the passenger in the car and knitting away on a sweater while we drove down country highways on a warm, clear fall day - heaven.
