First Attempt At Baby Booties

A husband and wife trucking team I know is expecting a baby girl in December and I am attempting to make a pair of baby booties for them.

I tried a few different ways of making them and finally settled on a bottom up approach which seemed to work pretty well. I did run into a bit of trouble working out the toe shaping but found a pattern by YarnThrower for a very similar bootie and used the shaping instructions from that pattern to do the toe. Otherwise, it's my own creation.

I finished the first one this morning. I hope it doesn't look too terrible and she likes them.

Very sweet! They certainly

Very sweet! They certainly don't "look terrible", quite the contrary. Also, they have a nice shape to them which is something that seems lacking in many baby booties.

Thanks. I know what you mean about the shape. I had looked at a number of bootie patterns that I thought looked totally shapeless. I didn't want to go there.
