Hey guys.
I’m going to be visiting the good old U S of A in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there were any good yarn stores worth visiting. We will be going to Miami, Key West and Manhattan. Any suggestions/recommendations?
There are so many good LYSs in Manhattan!! I just love going shopping there. If you have time, I would suggest three that I enjoy:
Purl
137 Sullivan St # B
New York, NY 10012
(212) 420-8796
purlsoho.com
(They also have a wonderful little fabric shop called Purl Patchwork if you're into that sort of thing. It is located just down the street from the knitting shop, perhaps 5 store fronts away...)
Annie & Co. Needlepoint Ltd.
1323 Madison Avenue
93rd & 94th, New York, NY 10128
(212) 360-7266
annieandco.com
(The knitting shop is downstairs and they have a needlepoint shop upstairs)
Knitty City
208 W 79th St
New York, NY 10024
(212) 724-9596
knittycity.com
Hope this helps and I hope that you have a wonderful, safe, fiber-filled trip!!
Cool, sounds like 'Norfolk n Good' is going to have a great trip to look forward too. I'm not sure that we are so well-served here in the UK, though we do have the likes of "I Knit London" and "Loop" here in the capital.
So a resounding "bon voyage" to Norfolk, hope you really enjoy yourself.
I'm off to Italy shortly and will report back on the yarn scene in Rome if I can for anyone who is also planning a visit to my favourite city on earth.
