“Fabulous Fairisle” by John Allen; hard cover, 120 pages; printed in Scotland; 1991 (out of print).
Here is a cool Fair Isle book by a guy (!) knitter. I accidentally found this book and couldn’t resist a knitting book written by a bloke.
The contents range from the obligatory history of Fairisle knitting to traditional patterns and on to “inspirational and unconventional uses of Fairisle”. I liked the way the charted (B&W) patterns are shown knitted-up in colour. This makes it easy for me to visualize correctly how the pattern might look. There are about 5 jumper patterns in the back.
If you see this book, I suggest you purchase it. It wasn’t dear and was worth the money.
