Well finally got a chance to use my new Drum Carder.. wasn't really sure what I was doing but fortunately there are some great videos on youtube by a lady called Rexenne.. I have carded about 100g of Gold, White, Black and Chocolate Angora fibre for the next project, the Queen Anne Shawl by Mmario. Might look a bit weird in four colours but it's really a practice piece blending and plying and hopefully knitting up. Should be fun. Anyhow the carding is over with..now onto spinning :)

I'm thinking of grabbing a handful of each in sequence, white, gold, black and chocolate. I will do 2 bobbins following this sequence then I will ply them together. The result should be a very gradual merge of the colours on the final yarn. The colours are very subtle so I think it should work as a kind of shading over the whole piece rather than blocks of colour. :) Keep everything crossed for me so I dont just make a horrid mess LOL !

hmmmmmmmm......I can see gold, shading into white, into the chocolate, into the black. Or versa-vicey. should be striking either way. Since you can blend to your heart's content, it may take a bit of work, but I think it's going to be a wowser.
