Start: 8th May 2008
Finish: 17th June 2008
Yarn: My own hand-spun - "Tahiti", merino optim from Chameleon Colorworks
Needles: Addi Lace, 3.5 mm - 80 cm (US#4 - 32")
Pattern: Swallowtail Shawl by Evelyn A. Clark from Interweave Knits Fall 2006
I finally got around to do a photo shoot for this shawl. It certainly is becoming harder for me to think of a place to do the photos now....and to be honest, I'm not 100% satisfied with this shooting either. Oh well...I still think that the results are nice enough.
This is the first project I finished knitting using my own hand-spun yarn. Really proud of it.
"Flambé" is French for the Scarce Swallowtail...it's native to Europe and not the Pacific. I chose the name "Le Flambé du Pacifique" (Scarce Swallowtail of the Pacific) because the colourway "Tahiti". Besides, I reckon that the colours on the Flambé's wings also reflects the colourway of this shawl.
Photos taken @ the courtyard of "Prinzipal" (the restaurant at Prinzregententheater)

What a great shawl and the photography I think is pretty awesome. Somehow you are putting both my knitting and my photography to shame (my photography at its best consists of scarves on trees) in one fell swoop (or swell foop). But I'm not easily intimidated.
Keep up the great work!

Yeah, well, I've knitted a Swallowtail before and the nupps almost drove me bat-sh*t crazy. This time, I tried to bring up patience for it....I mean, p5tog with Addi lace and slippery yarn isn't such a fun business. ;-)

Yes, I handed in my thesis last week...but this is Germany, so it's not the same as USA. The thesis precedes all written and oral exams. So I still have those to do. *urgh* But sure, you guys are always welcome to my graduation party when I actually graduate. ;-)
