I LOVE this pattern - have since I first saw it!

I was going to make it for my sister for her b'day last year, but tendonitis struck and I couldn't. I still have the yarn, though - bright pink acrylic, as well as a ball of the same brand in rainbow colors to make one for a lesbian friend (also never gotten around to). Eventually, once I get my stash into something resembling a state of order, I still plan to make them.

I've also shown the website with the digestive tract off at work. It met with various reactions, but since GI issues figure heavily in our work (animals do eat the damnedest things), most thought it was weird but funny. I can envision an entire series of GI tracts from different species, though I'm not sure it's a task I'll ever find time to take on.

But... you can't have babies.

Don't you oppress me.
REG:
I'm not oppressing you, Stan. You haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!

I guess now Stan can just knit himself a womb.

I did see it several days

I did see it several days ago.  I guess the answer to the question may be "Why not??".  We knit to create, be it socks, sweaters, hats, or obviously body parts and organs.  I do think the human digestive system is a bit much, but hey, who am I to judge?  I tend to agree with Jordan, and I'm not sure I would put the time into knitting it.  Knit what you feel like knitting...  (Although, I can see someone doing an entire Christmas Tree out of little hand knitted uterus "ornaments" as some type of fund raiser at a "Festival of Trees" somewhere.)  I guess my question is, "Are people out there knitting other body parts and are there workshops on how to knit various body parts?":

Betty:  "Hey Madge, are you going to take the "Valentine's Day Vagina" knitting class?
Madge:  "I'd love to Betty, but I already made one for my husband for Christmas.  I was thinking about taking the "Anatomically Correct Sock Puppet" Class.  The budget for the school counselor was cut, so they're asking for donations for the program".......

 

I'll stick to scarves and hats for the time being.......

It's a UTERUS, nothing to do with the digestive system.  I didn't see the part where she was studying anatomy; I had scrolled down the page to see it go from being perched on the piano keys to hanging from the limbs of a tree.  Maybe it's part of the grieving process of a hysterectomy.

...sometimes just solving how to knit something is the fun...

It's a knitted digestive system! I don't know if I'd actually put the time into doing all that, but it does sort of open your mind regarding what's possible!
