Thinking about making a hood or hat in the Patagonian style. (Sorry, best words for what I have in mind.) Just a close-fitting hood with long strings that tie under the chin. Anyone have a pattern? I haven't been able to find one on the net and not sure where to start with the design. Any ideas? Anyone?

My partner also has a copy of "Andean Folk Knitting" which has a few patterns and lots of photos of different styles and designs. I think it's kind of hard to come by, as it's out of print, but if you want to sort out a pattern of your own or are interested in traditional patterning, then it might be a resource worth looking for.
