I guess I felt Ravelry was
I guess I felt Ravelry was so great because I really haven't spent much time on both. I haven't gotten the sense of "community" that everyone seems to have here simply because I haven't spent much time here. I hope that changes soon though! What caught by eye about Ravelry was the sheer volume of information. One of the books I've been having a fun time with is "Don't Knit Your Man A Sweater". It was so much fun putting the book's name in and seeing what people have been doing with the very same project I've been working on (namely Argyle Socks). Anyway, I hope to get to know some of you soon!

well - ravalry is a huge
well - ravalry is a huge resource; but in my opinion has some serious basic issues; among other things - introducing new feature after new feature when the current ones don't work correctly or only work intermittantly. The search features are very erratic - if you run the same searches you can get totally different results only minutes apart;
I personally could also do without the cutesy icons; the whole "friend" business; "favoriting" and several other features that I am sure many Ravelers consider essential.
MWK and Ravelry both have
MWK and Ravelry both have their place... and that's why I am on both :) - since discovering them, it's hard to imagine life without either of them... I will say that I have met some incredible people on Ravelry, and the sheer size of the membership has introduced me to groups/guilds, as well as even some in person meetings...
all in all, they're both good in their own way :)

I agree that Men Who Knit
I agree that Men Who Knit most definitely has the "personal touch", I feel far less like a community on Ravelry (even in the Ravelry Men Who Knit group). But Ravelry absolutely has it's merits, especially in the organization category. The "My Notebook" features are so useful as well as the pattern and yarn browers. I also love Ravelry to check out prospective projects to find out what worked and didn't work for other people who did those projects. _____________________________

I like them both...I like
I like them both...I like that ravelry has so many rooms of interest, and that I can pick the brains of people (men AND women) who have worked on various projects that I might be interested in...(for example, there are a lot more garment designers on there, and good resources for sample knitters, getting pieces published etc...) MWK is like a coffee klatch knit group... Both have great attributes, but they're kind of hard to compare: They don't try to be the same things.

Ditto .. Ravelry is fun to visit from time to time, but this smaller forum is much better. I visit MWK several times a day. The smaller and more specific men's forum is a much better place.

I, like Joe, Albert, and Mario feel more connected to this forum. I was excited when I got my invitiation and started putting all my things in but I soon realized that I had lost months of valuable knitting time. It is fun to travel through the different groups but really it is like an Ice Cream store with 60,000 flavours!!

I agree completely with
I agree completely with Albert. Ravelry has some great features and functionality, but I don't feel much closeness with masses of folks like I do with the guys out here.
