This was knitted using the pattern for the Two Toned Column Scarf, from KnitPicks. Other than my choice of yarns and the fringe I followed the pattern exactly as written, except that I slipped the last stitch of each row. I like it well enough but I was not altogether pleased with the edges. The CC is very obvious on one side.
I was told that when doing a mosaic stitch the CC must be knitted to the edges to secure it. That leaves a line of CC stitches that looks a bit sloppy, to me. There are three MC stitches on either edge in a twisted stitch mock cable.
I have two requests to make scraves in this pattern for gifts. Next time I will play around with the pattern from the get-go to see if I can contain the contrast color from the edges. I'm wondering if that can be done without creating holes or causing other problems?
Any suggestions on how I could accomplish that would be welcome. I'm still rather new at this.
Thanks

Very cool scarf. I did a mosaic knit scarf recently in a two color lattice stitch and the edges showed the CC color. I covered it with a crab stitch edging.

Thank you. The yarns that I
Thank you. The yarns that I used for it were Berroco Ultra Alpaca #6296 'Marsh Mix', and Araucania Magallanes #300. It took about 1 and 3/4 skeins of the Berroco, and one entire skein of the Araucania, knitted on size seven needles.
By the way, I flubbed up on the name for the pattern. It is listed simply as "Columns Scarf". The pattern is a free pdf download.
The scarf is lovely, Ozark.
