Hey everyone :)

First of all - sorry for my english ... it aint to good but hopefully its better then most members norwegian :)

Im looking for selbu / fair isle patterns for gloves , mittens and hats 24/7.

Is there anyone who can help me to find old patterns - who wants to swap ore give me a hint - it would have been so great.

I found this site from one pic of some lovely hats and fais isle pattern book - but after i registreded as a member .. ive lost it.

Nope - it aint that one. I was on google search for fair island patterns when a pic of you and a book came up in the search. It was a book with 3-4 different patterns / charts on the front. One was a horse / deer in red ore orange. It was becose of that one i found this site and became a member - but when i was finished becomming a member - i had lost the book.

Last year there was a site

Last year there was a site which showed hundred of patterns of mittens done in colourwork...Ukranian, Lithuanian? Latvian? something along those lines - and the pictures were good enough you could graph the patterns from them.

I'll try to find it again if it's still up.

There are seven galleries linked off this page - hundreds of designs. It would take some work to chart the patterns from the pictures but if nothing else a lot of eye-candy and inspiration.

Im trying to get my hands on the book of alice starmore ... charts for colore knitting a designers source book from the personal collection of alice starmore. But to pay $495 on ebay ore almost the same on amazon ... then my dog wont have food for the next 6 months

I got Zilboorgs book " Magnificent Mittens" for a christmas present and i belive that the really magnificent about it was the price 300$. The mittens are great - but ... its not worth so much money.

Its so difficult to get the hands on the really old patterns. It seems that museums just want them to dust down and not share them with people exept from on pics ore under glass.
