New Sweater Started - Cameo Aran

Drew Emborsky's picture

This is the first time I've actually made a sweater for myself.  I'm so stoked!  The pattern says that it's good for beginners with basic skills so I'm not anticipating any problems.

The yarn is Lorna's Laces hand dyed Shepherd Worsted in the color Aslan. It looks like dark and milk chocolate swirled together and is very soft.

Drew, it looks great.

Drew, it looks great.  Lorna's Laces yarn is one of my favorites.  Just finished a sideways scarf in the Lion and Lamb (Mineshaft colorway).  Very warm and soft.  I have also purchased the worsted weight in Mineshaft and Pewter for the trim to make a sweater.  Your work is pushing me to start it sooner rather than later.  Thanks for showing it to us.

Drew, that is unbeliveable,

Drew, that is unbeliveable, I'm using the same pattern for my first sweater! I did the ribbing while I was in hospital & have not been inspried to do more. I'm using Debbie Bliss cashmerino chunky in white.

Good luck. We can compare notes.

Drew, That is a fantastic

Drew, That is a fantastic cable pattern.  Just enough cabling to be interesting but not overwhelming.  I also like the stitch pattern on either side.  I copied the pattern and am seriously considering knitting it.  My only concern is the wide and low neck line.  I think it may be better suited for a younger and trimmer person than I am!  It is a great pattern and I think you selected a nice wool.  The cable should show nicely.  Cheers, Jesse

Hiya Jesse. I really like

Hiya Jesse. I really like the seed stitch right next to the cabling.  It should make it pop!
