No, it's actually a form of bleeding heart. We do have Astilbe planted in several different locations and it always does well.

Absolutely beautiful! I

Absolutely beautiful! I would love to have a haven like that. The house it a wonderful color. It has been a challenge in Denver with the summer heat and the lack of rain. But someday I hope to get it right!

Thanks, we have had a couple of dry summers the past two years but not really that bad. We don't do any winter sowing, at least not in the gardens. ;-)

Well sowing in cups and placed in a bin is a great way to get a head start if you have the urge to plant but it is snowy.

very pretty.
i am anxiously awaiting the burst of colors in our garden. wisteria is just plumping up. gets me so excited.

I usually have to wait for June to see wisteria. saometimes it manages to bloom in may - but not most years.

It is a beautiful garden. I think all knitters are probably gardeners, at least at heart. You've given me spring fever a month early and St. Louis is in the middle of a blizzard as I write this - so much for spring fever. :(

Thank-you. Spring fever hasn't really set in with me yet, I'm enjoying not having to mow the lawn, etc. for a couple of months more. We're expected to get a major ice storm tonight.

As a former nursery manager

As a former nursery manager and Master Gardener in training, I have to comment on how beautiful your gardens are. Your use of color is wonderful. Were you inspired by Monet for the color of the house? It works perfectly as a back drop to the garden. Thank you for sharing!

I don't think I was really

I don't think I was really inspired by anything, I just thought those colors would work well together. I was inspired however while painting it and the ladder fell while I was still on it. I broke my shoulder, had to have 2 surgeries and 3 months of PT. I am now inspired to pay someone to paint it next time.
