I finally got this done after frogging it the first time. It was much faster working it in Continental then my other wierd way. Anyway, I like how the color landed up where it did. Ralf loves it and has it on at work today. The yarn is a cotton that I found in a great little yarn store in Jerome, AZ. I've lost the tag and have no idea what it might be so if anyone recognizes it let me know I'd like to hunt for some more. This is super simple and I can see using the same basic pattern but adding different design elements. I sort of can't wait to do another one.

It's a little hard to tell
It's a little hard to tell from the pic, is it done in stockinette? If so, how did you deal with the bottom edge curling up?

It was done in stockinette but in the round and then the ends were stitched together. Super simple no curling.

Well it's the standard 56"
Well it's the standard 56" for a tie but it is cotton and you know how that can stretch out. To me it looks like it's hanging down to where most of his ties hang down. He's only 5'-9", maybe I just need to have him stretched.
Beautiful! Looks like you
Beautiful! Looks like you have the continental down pat. I still haven't had a chance to work on it. I have the cobblestone finished now except for sewing the underarm seams. I'm going to make some chemo caps to donate to our local hospital so maybe I'll try it on one of those.

That's great!! I remember wearing knit ties in the early 80s. What fun they were. Mabye they'll make a comeback! Great colors...
I think they are coming
I think they are coming back. I've seen them alot in conjunction with the return of the prepy look, mostly with sweater vests and shirt tail hanging out etc. Doesn't really matter though - I think a good art tie is always in style.
When the slovenly
When the slovenly nondescript look comes back, I will totally rock!

It is great the way the colours ended up! I've only knit one tie ever - since I detest wearing them I really don't feel right knitting them for someone else
